Lovell Soccer Review the Nike CTR 360 Maestri III Football Boots Sonic Yellow/White/Black
The CTR 360 has been completely re-designed by Nike with the main focus being on the wearer being able to dictate the tempo of the game. There was initially a high level of anticipation surrounding the new boot, however a number of Nike endorsed players have been spotted wearing the new boot during pre-season friendlies.
There are a number of new features on the boot as well as improvements from the previous model which are designed to enhance the traction, support and lightweight comfort. The new features include a Kanga-Lite II synthetic upper with ACC technology, a 3D control pad and a responsive sole plate.
The Kanga-Lite II synthetic upper is equipped with All Conditions Control (ACC) which aids the grip between the boot and ball for high performance control in all conditions. With there being alot of talk at the moment over what is the better material for the upper of a boot, this new technology should give synthetic an advantage over natural leather.
Since the CTR first entered the market it has been known for the control pad on its instep. Nike have now redesigned this area so that the boot now features a 3D control pad which uses fins of varying sizes to hug the arch and maximise ball contact for precise receiving and passing accuracy.
The lacing system sits slightly off centre so that it follows the the direction of the control pad and leaves more on the outside of the boot for the more delicate touch. On the outside of the boot the synthetic leather features small indents which don’t only improve the visual of the boot but also increase the friction between the boot and ball. This should help to prevent the ball rolling away from the wearer when they take their first touch on the outside of the foot.
The FG sole plate is a brand new 360 degree placement design which features a mixture of rounded and bladed moulded studs. The rounded studs have been deployed on the medial side and the bladed are on the lateral. This layout is designed to offer premium comfort and traction for when the wearer makes sharp turns in all directions.
The durability and protection that the boots offer has also been improved thanks to the new sole plate. It has been given a lower profile as well as being made super-durable. The TPU stud islands provide extra durability and and impact protection in the high-wear zones.
The EVA sockliner has foam PORON inserts for added cushioning and reduced stud pressure. This should improve the comfort of the boot and allow the wearer to perform to their maximum potential with more ease.
The sonic yellow/white/black is the lead colour way of the new CTR 360 however it is also available in black/white/bright crimson. The sonic yellow at the front and around the heel of the boot has made it stand out on pitch during the recent pre-season friendlies and catch the eye of those who like to keep up to date with the latest boot releases.
