Puma’s New Autumn Collection
In only his third season on English soil, Sergio Aguero has already cemented himself as a legend on the the blue half of Manchester. When he is not winning the Premier League title in the most dramatic fashion then the Argentine striker is simply banging in goals for fun.
His arrival at Manchester City certainly caused a storm at the time and was the catalyst for their first title in over forty years, with the player alone compiling a spectacular catalogue of goals of the season. Praised and admired by his team-mates and supporters, opponents and rival fans know they are in for a bad day at the office when his name is on the team sheet.
Ability aside, what we admire about Aguero is that he is always at the forefront of sporting the latest boot designs and what better way to mark the Manchester derby than by lacing up the new autumn look of the Puma Evospeed 1.2 football boot. He certainly lit up the City of Manchester Stadium on Sunday with a brace of goals that will have further enhanced his God-like status and sent United a clear message of intent for the season ahead.
With smooth curves, lightweight performance and a sleek look that means business, this is a model which unleashes a devastating world of speed. Inspired by the shape of muscles, tendons and the smooth curves of a race car, the Evospeed 1.2 has been created from a microfibre that is softer and lighter than previous versions so that it glides atop the scales at just 192g (UK size 8, FG version).
As a subtle yet performance enhancing addition, the inclusion of Puma GripTex adds a 3D pattern aimed at delivering extra grip during wet conditions. This will come in particularly useful during the autumn and winter months when you can never rely on the weather but will still demand the highest performance from your footwear.
Not every feature of the Evospeed 1.2 is immediately noticeable, as is the case of the internal EverFit cage. Strategically positioned in the midfoot, this delivers stability and optimal flexibility as you accelerate on the turn. Whilst inside the boot and attention should also be paid to the soft tongue and heel which ensure comfort and protection from the moment you slip a pair onto your lucky feet.
Moving onto the sole and with the latest release Puma have taken the decision to opt for smaller moulded conical studs spread across the forefoot and heel in the FG model. Utilising Duoflex technology, increased manoeuvrability and ground penetration across firm natural surfaces was the thinking behind this decision in what is a revamp from previous Evospeed models. Also available in a SG version, you have the equipment to take to the field in any conditions throughout the season.
Features and technology aside and there is no disguising that the Evospeed 1.2 sports a look that which will brighten up those dark winter months. With a warming blackberry cordial shade at the heart of this boot, the inclusion of contrasting fluorescent orange will truly liven up your play and even a touch of pink is completely in keeping with the design.
